The Florida Diamond Pros are extremely happy with the partnership they have created with JaguarPT for the summer of 2010. The program is shaping up to be not just a place to play summer baseball but a place to showcase your talent and become a better baseball player.
The summer showcase circuit is a grueling schedule and you have to be at your best at all times, fresh legs, arms and being healthy in order to perform at 120% and we have taken that step to help every player in our program.
Jaguar PT prepares baseball athletes by designing and managing an individualized program while training the athlete to perform to the best of their ability. Every program is based on a scientific PERIODIZATION? rationale behind training?. This involves manipulating training intensity, sets, repetitions, and volume while working with the seasonal demands of the regular season and tournament demands. Once individual differences are accounted for, the effectiveness of the program enhances ones ability to maximize their performance on the field. Our sound scientific principals are fused with a combination of antidotal experience of over 40 years of playing, coaching, and training.
What makes baseball distinctly different from most sports is the requirement to develop the greatest amount of force, in the shortest period of time, with a rotational motion/motor pattern, with maximal recovery between efforts. Ideally baseball players want to produce mass specific force, putting power and strength at a premium.
Pitchers truly are specialized individuals, throwing a baseball is one of the most unnatural movements; a fastball can produce a wicked amount of force (approximately 7000 deg second = approximately 20 Full Revolutions per second!). Research proves that according to specific adaptations to imposed demands, the structure of the throwing shoulder can adapt and change causing retroversion of the humerus. This benefits the pitcher?. only if he prepares his body to allow the shoulder to operate with the proper force coupling. This works to produce both maximal force (throwing) and decelerating (stopping the arms forward motion) in a short time.
We are very proud and excited with the direction that our program is heading and by adding JaguarPT to our summer program I know that our players will get better and be healthy and strong during the grueling summer heat.
