THE FLORIDA DIAMOND PROS - Updated News Flash Section

SUMMER OF 2012 - PROGRAM UPDATE

To our FDP Supporters and Fans, we will providing you with an updated information on our 2012 Summer Program pretty soon. As always every year we strive to improve and provide you with the best possible exposure and program possible. And that couldn't be more evident by what the College Recruiters said about our 2011 Summer Program located in our Main Menu "Coaches Comments". Our 2012 Summer Program will take what we did in 2011 and build on that with much more for the player. We will focus not only on providing a competive summer schedule but we will also focus on the development of the player off the field in areas that are such as important and in some eyes more important. Like we always say "We tip our hats to anyone that runs a summer program because it takes work" but we are very excited and sure that once again our program will set its self apart.

For the 2012 Summer Season we will not be holding tryouts, or any camps we will be recruiting players throughout the following months and in some cases hold private workouts. If you are interested in knowing more about our program or interested in playing for our program in 2012 then please fill out a 2012 Player Registration and we will contact you.

2011 - Michael Miedzianowski - Selected 22nd Round - Baltimore Orioles

Orioles

I have to make another testimony about Harold Vaca. Where do you find a person so pationate about what they do that he recognized that Michael, my son has a real shot at getting drafted fairly high in the draft but needed some polish to his game. Told me that he would move my son into his house for a week, hook him up with Rey Noriega for hours a day working round the clock with him on his hitting, fielding, and mental attitude. I havent seen Mike play yet but he has come home with a swag. Mike told me he loves Harold, his family, and associates and wants to move to Miami. Thank you for everything, my son has such spark and belief in himself that I have never seen in him before.

Day One of the Fall Season brought out the Scouts & Recruiters!!!!

The 2011 Fall Season began last week for the Florida Diamond Pros and it was a great start for the organization. The Diamond Pros opened its fall at the Pros Select Showcase event in Ft. Myers, an annual event that provides players with an opportunity to workout in front of a lot of scouts and college recruiters. “John Cedarburg does a great job of putting this event together and the workout portion of the event was great, there were so many schools and scouts” stated FDP Program Director Harold Vaca.

During game one there were at least 12 Pro Scouts in attendance to watch the Diamond Pros 6’6” LHP Jeff Rehonic pitch. The team went 2-0 in its only two games of the day with great pitching performance 2012 - Marc Brakeman, 2013 - Austin Green, 2013 - Christian Fasig. On the following day the Diamond Pros faced off against Palm Beach State College and once again the pitching staff did not disappoint with 2012 - Callahan Brown, 2012 - Rey Ordonez Jr., 2012 - Victor Gonzalez, and 2012 - Steven Fleming keeping the college hitters to limited hits.

With weekend one already behind them the Diamond Pros get ready to participate in the 2011 PG World Qualifier this weekend in Ft. Myers. They enter the PG World Qualifier with one of the best pitching staffs the program has had during their fall seasons. Four of the starting five pitchers in the rotation have Division I college commitments, two pitchers are committed to Florida International University - LHP Jeff Rehonic & RHP Victor Gonzalez, and the next two are committed to Stanford University - RHP Marc Brakeman and Mississippi State University - RHP Callahan Brown, with our Bahamas import - RHP Byron Ferguson still uncommitted. The top five pitchers have an average velocity of 88-92mph on their fastballs with great secondary stuff.

But don’t think that the rest staff is not good, those five guys are complimented by quality pitchers that can win games just as much as our fire ballers. We have a LHP - Steven Fleming that gets outs and can control the game very well, along with RHP’s - Tyler Christensen, William Borregard and young 2014 - LHP Joshua Mendez that do a great job as well. These young men all have a FB that ranges from 83-87 mph’s and excellent secondary stuff and don’t take a back seat to anyone.

But this programs pitching doesnt end there, in the OF they have a young 2013 - RHP Austin Green who is fearless on the hill and just comes in and just goes straight at hitters with a good FB and great secondary stuff. The infield has two of its own contributer with Florida International University commit RHP Rey Ordonez Jr. who brings his FB between 87-89 and 2013 - RHP Chris Garcia who is a promising INF and RHP with his velo at 83-86 but both him and Ordonez know how to pitch.

Our pitchers aren’t the only outstanding players on this team, our infield is lead by the son of a MLB player and a Florida International University commit 2012 - Rey Ordonez Jr. this young man leads an infield loaded with talent and the ability to make hard plays and keep the pitchers in games...the catchers are lead by one of the top catchers in the game a Virginia Tech University commit 2012 - Robbie Coman he leads two other catchers that are quality catch and throw guys that do a great job of handling a staff and keeping runners from advancing on the bases. The outfields lead 2012 - Joe Klepac have talent, strong arms and speed at centerfield, and the corner outfielders that can hit for power as well as contact, the outfielders not only have the ability to make diving plays to get outs but can throw out any runners trying to advance to 3B or trying to score a run.

This year’s fall roster for the Diamond Pros not only covers the state of Florida from Jacksonville to Key West but one of our power arms is from the Bahamas. The program is very excited and looking forward to this weekend, they have put together a roster of quality players that get along very well as teammates and compliment each other very well.
